The Proposal Specialist is responsible for strategic content creation of business development deliverables, including requests for proposals (RFP), requests for information (RFI), requests for quotes/re-price (RFQ) and other related documents. This position has no direct reports.
Review the minimum requirements for each project and determine if they align with company’s core business model
Assist with the development of tailored content for proposals by engaging subject matter experts
Collaborate with the sales team in the development of a strategic approach including appealing and persuasive content
Produce written proposals and presentations utilizing standardized processes and department templates
Identify legal content and contractual language that requires review and or approval by legal counsel
Conduct thorough review of documents for cohesiveness of responses, content flow and organization, syntax/grammar, and format specifications prior to internal review
Produce final proposal documents for RFP specifications
Organize and maintain electronic files on company platform
Provide support as needed to the sales operations team to achieve department goals
Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business or related field
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ proposal writing/management experience
Project management experience
Demonstrated experience leading discussions and driving a group of individuals, with varying perspective, to consensus
Creative flare and keen eye for graphical and document design details
Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner
Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation, and detail-oriented perspective
A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
Proposal software and HTML knowledge and experience
Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands
